I cornered her later. "Do you have to play up to my parents? Why were you so nice-you make me sick."

She shook her head, "Olive, Olive, you are the pits."

I was so mad if I heard that once, I had heard it a 100 times. I didn't want to hear it from her.

She looked at me and said, "I know they are parents, and I know sometimes they don't know what they're doing, but they mean well. Besides, I want them to like me."

Like her-they loved her! And now I would probably have to set the table, make the salad, help with dinner and clean up every night. Who needs a friend like that?

So you see, lots of kids don't like her because she's such a know it all, and yes, very bossy at times and yes, sometimes difficult. I wouldn't have asked for her help in a million years but I am eternally grateful for her concern the day I met her. You see, as a result, Amy is my very best friend ever.
